I wish I were a clam digger
How tempted would you be to give up your current life for a life of leisure where you can sit around all day and rot your brain with
I mean is it bad, that I seriously contemplate what life would be like as a clam digger?
If I were a clam digger, I could work in the mornings and ride my bike in the evenings. Yes, that bike there. We keep it in the kitchen, don’t you keep your bike in the kitchen?

I could also spend my afternoons being incredibly vain and staring at myself in the mirror. Or I could just buy random antiques and toss them about my house.

Of course there’s the inevitable, many many hours at the beach. I could learn to cliff dive perhaps.
And finally, I could just grow old and gray and sit in my rocking chair for hours while possibly wondering how the hell I’m related to a person who is obsessed by all things

I just got back from vacation, where the hardest decisions I made were:
should i go kayaking or just lay around reading my book looking at the water?
what trashy, brainless movie do we want tonight?
wine or martinis?
is it time to put on more sunscreen?
I answered them all correctly except for the last one. (the answer was "apply it sooner you pale idiot"). I wish my entire life could be a vacation.
Is that your Mom? She's BEAUTIFUL!
Now I ain't sayin she's a clam digger...
I am SO in!
HAHA--I was thinking the exact same thing as I-66... And I also agree, that's one hot lady there!
So, did you watch the premiere of The Hills last night? I'll admit it--I totally did--and LOVED it.
DCFullest: My biggest decision was whether or not I should eat my clams whole (with bellies) or in strips. I did both. FIVE TIMES.
Roary: Yup. She's prettier and thinner but I'm taller, so whatev.
I-66: That was almost the title of this post.
NotCarrie: Vacations are wonderful. I miss college, they were mandatory. Now? Not so much.
Angela: I missed the premier of the Hills because I was afraid of changing the channel on Amalah's tivo, so I watched Big Love for like three hours. But! knowing MTV and their love of reruns, I'll probably watch it while i'm bored tomorrow.
Your mom is lovely—that's a really nicely composed shot, too. We kept our bikes in the living room for awhile, then outside, then they were stolen. I'm still sad about that.
I think working is highly overrated. Early this year I took 6 weeks off from working and had lots of fun. It was hard going back once I saw what life could be.
I wanted to work on a vineyard for a while, having much the same delusions of perfection. I guess what you forget is that it's probably ridiculously hard to be a clammer. And you'd always smell like clams, making everything else you do that much less enjoyable.
There's where your beauty comes from. :)
So glad you came back.
Pixie: not so much 'composed' as it is, point and shoot and pray to God that it looks halfway normal. And as you can see, I am unable to take a compliment. So thank you.
Dagny: Btwn Nov. 2004 and June 2005, I took off from work, it was the best 7 months of my life.
TBI: Thanks for dashing my hopes and dreams. Tear.
I forgot to mention that on my way back, I told Kris that I was quite tempted to not go home and she said that I made her happy and then I realized that my heart isn't made of steel and so I returned.
Laughing out loud at the bike in the kitchen. Because I kept mine in the kitchen for awhile at my old apartment.
And clam digging is fine. But I'm intrigued by this Dealiest Catch show now. Crab fishing. That looks cool!
Jason is on this season of LB? I thought it was all new, ugly kids. That's it. I'm coming home. I never would have left if I knew he'd be on it.
Great mention in the Express today!
And I agree, it'd be great to just lounge all day. Ah....
Bone: I saw that this weekend. It totally makes me also want my own fishing boat. sigh...
Lizzie: He's on the Hills, but not on this season of LB, at least I don't think. We were watching a Marathon...alll day long.
MappyB: yes, gracias. of course I don't read the express because I walk or drive to work, so now I'm going to have to search for a copy to put up on my wall. Maybe I'll have it framed...no?
Laguna Beach scares me. A lot of things do.
I would love to see you attempt to cliff dive off of the cliffs in the picture.
:)
Nut.
Why aren't you visiting us yet?
J
You can download it from their website. I think I'm going to have my mention blown up into poster size, and hang it over my bed.
You Mom is very lovely. Yes, lovely indeed.
I must mention that we now watch "My Super Sweet 16" at our house. Thanks to you. And it's just horrible. Yes, horrible, horrible, horrible. Who are these kids and what are they going to be like when they are my age?
But we keep watching it. And talking about it. We have been sucked in.
I totally keep my bike (and my bf's two bikes) in our kitchen.
My dream is to someday have a place to keep bikes that is a "garage" or a "shed" or a "mudroom" -- I've heard such things exist.
